Am I the only person that thinks that Internet slang is starting to become a problem? I've been listening to people at my high school conversing lately and I've noticed that Internet slang is being used more frequently and even in regular, voice-to-voice conversations. I'm beginning to think that it could even start effecting everyday grammar and become a habit to some of these individuals. Some may see it as harmless, but you might think otherwise when you go into a job interview and let a "IDK" slip out...Maybe I'm preaching to the wrong crowd...Until next time..good night Seattle, and good mental health.
Amen. I'm glad someone agrees. I thought all I would get were comments opposing my statement. That's why I don't like my generation..Nobody seems to have any morals or self-values anymore.

Oh man, since 60% of the population on DA is like that, its not hard to believe you'd get comments like that. Anyway, no one has morals or self-value anymore mainly because of the media. Or, atleast, that's the way I see it. :/
Yeah, It's almost like a deadened form of hypnosis that molds minds into thinking and acting the way they see is "just". I watch a lot of t.v, so I can't say that's wrong, but it's a shame when people are influenced so easily, as they often are.

It makes me laugh when people in the media say things like.. "Kids are horrible these days, starving themselves.." etc, teen pregnancy, all of that. And they show things like models with the shapes of 12 year old boys, free roaming sex, all of that. No wonder no one likes America.
Exactly! Hypocritical blindness! They don't see that todays youth's problems are developed and grown from things they feed them and ideals THEY try to shove down their throats at every turn.

It's always been out there, really. Sort of related - my school just had a mock vote for president and 3 fake props. One of the questions was whether the gov't should enforce internet bullying and related since there have been some people who have been killed/stalked, whatever, but that's impossible to do.
Internet language is up to the individual. If they choose to use it in the real world, that's their prerogative; it's all in the matter of using street and professional language in appropriate places.

"OMG they're twins! That makes it hot" - random guy shouting at M & I while we were running through the exhibition hall; MAID POWER
Well, I think its more that.. they see it, but they are making so much money they're not going to stop what they're doing. Out of nowhere, but, an example is injecting cows with growth hormones, then finding out that the hormones are linked to cancer. So why not stop it? Money money money.
Devious Comments
Teens these days either don't realise what they're saying or just don't care.
